Well I've always wanted an effects pedal. This thing is awesome, i was playing around in the music store and got lost in a moment haha. Its got some really good sounds i was impressed, I also was really impressed with the build quality of this product its medal unlike some of the cheaper plastic ones. I play acoustic so its kind of fun being able 2 play distortion and leads on an acoustic, Im sure when I play out somewhere it wll be funny to look at peoples faces when they hear an electric w/ two acoustics playing...

The RP255 does everything Digitech claims it does. About the 20 second looper- 20 seconds might not seem like a lot of time, but considering the fact that you can dub-over trac after trac, it's more than enough time. All of the sounds it produces are "AMAZING". I'm doing things and creating sounds, and music I never dreamed of. I almost went with the RP155, but I'm glad I spent a little more and got the expression pedal, It's more than just a "volume" or "WAH" pedal. It's just a lot of fun. I have not begun to create my own music yet, but I will as soon as I install the cubase LE4 software. It's the best thing I ever bought for my guitar. I have a new found love for my giutar. I just can't say enough about it, but Digitech can. Go to Digtech.com- go to products, then RP255- and they have a nice little video "demo" on this and several other RP's. I did a lot of research befor my purchase, and this thing flat-out "BLOWS AWAY" the competition. More effects than the others- "USB" computer recording & editing- plus the looper. Try to find just the looper, not to mention all of the incredible effects this processor has on any other effects processor, it just can't be done, not even at twice the price! And I did some serious looking around.

I've only had my RP255 for a couple weeks now, so I can't comment on anything long term. However, it has made me oh so happy so far. I hadn't played with my guitar for months, and now I yearn to pick it up because it sounds so much cooler. Let me say that I am a terrible guitar player, and I know practically nothing about all of the guitar extras that one might buy or how well they work. I can't comment on how the sounds from the RP255 compare to the things they are simulating. But I can say that it makes me seem like a much better guitar player than I actually am. I just have a small Behringer practice amp, and I don't even use it anymore. I just plug the RP255 into my computer speakers. If you want to expand on the sounds you can produce with your guitar, then this is a super affordable way to do it. And although the Cubase software can be a little tricky to figure out, it has worked well for me to record my playing. The drum machine is nice. It could have more variety, but it's pretty decent. For most people, I don't think you can go wrong with this purchase (based on my 2 happy weeks with mine).
