Product Description The G7th Performance capo is a completely new approach to capo design. It has none of the disadvantages of conventional capos, but instead offers enhanced performance and is simple to use. Not only that, it looks and feels great! The designer, Nick Campling, says...'I've struggled to find a capo I can live with for the best part of 30 years. They all either pulled my guitar out of tune, were fiddly to adjust, or they got in the way of my hand. Some just didn't work! The G7th Performance Capo is a result of combining my product design skills with my needs as a guitarist.'The capo is a constant source of frustration to guitarists. They can be awkward to useThey can pull your guitar out of tuneThey can interfere with the players handMost capos fall into 2 categories.Non-AdjustableThese capos usually work using a strong spring. They are simple and quick to use, but the spring tension cannot be adjusted, therefore they exert a different tension on each fret, and often cause tuning problems. They can also require a lot of strength to use.AdjustableA good adjustable capo is less likely to cause tuning problems. However many are awkward or fiddly to use. Some have only stepped adjustment which is too crude. Others interfere with the players hand. The new G7th capo has none of the problems of existing capos, but all of the benefits!'This will probably revolutionise the way we think about capos - a no hassle solution for guitarists.'- Guitarist Magazine Nov 03Technical InfoThe wrap spring clutch consists of just three elements: a fixed hub, a moving hub, and a spring whose inside diameter is just slightly smaller than the outside diameter of the two hubs. When the spring is forced over the two hubs, attempting to rotate in the direction which opens the capo wraps it down tightly

CAPO May 28, 2010 Samson Jackson (TN) No nonsense tool that really lets you focus on the MUSIC.
Does what it says it does without any extra BS.
Good product
Get it May 20, 2010 Frederick D. Faust (Queens, NY) This is a nice capo, I didn't know there were "nice" capos out there. At first I was a little taken back at the price but I'm glad I went for it. It feels very solid, and the release lever isn't jerky at all. It's very fast to put on and take off.
To put it on, you just press the lever so it's 100% open, put it over the strings and press down. To release it you just press the lever and it extends and you can pull it off.
Not worth the price tag!!! April 3, 2010 S. Hemphill 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Unless your guitar has a really light action, this capo might not intonate well for you. My advice, buy a Schubb!!! Hell, buy two instead of one of these.
the best, but for a price March 17, 2010 gum on shoe (DC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pros:
Easy to use
Durable
Cons:
price
It's expensive, but it is easily the best capo on the market that I've seen--unless you need a capo that can isolate specific/individual strings (too advanced for me). It's easy to use, has not damaged my guitar or strings and I've never had to tune my guitar after use. It feels very durable, like it will last a very long time.
One thing I wish it could do though, is clamp to the headstock of the guitar like other capos. I sometimes find it annoying to have to leave it on top of a desk or nearby shelf. Once I was lazy, and just left it on the strings for a few days after clamping it on very tightly and it caused a permanent crease in the rubber, so now I have to clamp it on pretty tight or slide the capo up a bit to get a good clamp on all the strings.
I bought this for myself two years ago when I first started playing, and another a year later for my girlfriend when she started playing. I've seen the price on this capo drop as low as $35 (you may want to check other sites such as [...] or musiciansfriend), but generally I've found Amazon will be cheapest at a range of $35-$40.
If you are a beginner with an economy acoustic guitar, I would not recommend paying this much for a capo, but if you were like me, a beginner who was determined to play guitar for many years and who knew that they would get discouraged from a poor sound and a capo that made playing guitar a hassle, then you should invest in this capo. If money is an issue, figure out what you can afford, but IMO, you should put most of your money into a quality guitar rather than its accessories.
Only five stars because I couldn't give six... January 9, 2010 L. Critchfield (Anaheim, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
BOY, oh BOY, oh BOY, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS THING!!! Super-easy to place and remove, strings always sound great with it on and stay in tune, looks nice too. I will never go back to an older style again, and will be recommending it to all my friends. (Shhhhh...don't tell...I'm even gonna get my Dad one for Father's Day!) :-)
