Good :) June 29, 2010 Eiko (San Diego, CA) Bought these for my boyfriend along with another packet of picks. I thought they looked nice but I didn't notice how see-through they were. Also, the shipping costs were outrageous. I ended up paying double the amount.
Essential kit June 5, 2010 Bill (Australia) This plectrum is an absolute classic. You can have all your fluoro-multicolour picks, your anodised aluminium, and your flaming-skull picks, but get one of these in your hand and you're instantly reminded of what back-to-basics, four-on-the-floor rock and roll is all about! Presented in the traditional rounded triangle profile, the tortoiseshell design is as instantly familiar to music lovers as tweed, flame-tops and sticky carpet.
And who can go past the seminal medium gauge? Not so heavy that it carelessly knocks the string out of the way without any feeling, not so light that it gives the string a light dust on the way past and makes a sound if you're lucky. Medium is the true working class pick.
You will be completely amazed at how versatile this humble little pick is. Combine it with a Les Paul Standard and Marshall head, and it will be singing classic 60s blues tones. Switch it over to a Strat in second position through an MXR compressor and Twin Reverb, and you've instant funk. Try using this pick on a Gretsch 6120 with some nice tremolo, and you'll think Duane Eddy is in the room. And you know what? They even sound great on acoustic!
I was starting to think, "Man! Is there anything this pick can't play?" so I strapped on my Precision Bass and sure enough, this little wonder played it like a beauty. It didn't balk at the heavier strings. It even sounded good on a mandolin.
I don't think there's an instrument around that thing couldn't play. It is THE essential piece of kit for any musician. And don't worry - it's not real tortoiseshell. These picks are vegan-friendly!
Received only 2- bad packaging June 1, 2010 Shrinivasan Neelamegam Shyamsundar (Philadelphia, PA) I received only 2 picks out of the 12 mentioned in the advt. I think its more of a bad packaging which the seller has not responded to even though few of the reviewers have already complained about it.
Don't get white May 8, 2010 C. S. head (Texas) Well this is a great guitar pick, and I had no trouble with shipping on mine. My only complaint is that I got the white picks and after about 20 minutes of playing, the Fender gold logo comes off on your fingers. Not a big deal but annoying just the same. Next time I will try the confetti.
Picks March 17, 2010 Kwan Ng So they are thin, and they are picks... They do the job. Only problem was that whoever packaged them didn't do a great job and they were all no longer in the case and just in the box. Luckily I only lost one in delivery, but they were so cheap it really doesn't make a difference.
