| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The Gibson Maestro Diva electric guitar as with all 3/4 is not to be tuned the same as full sized electric guitar. A 3/4 electric guitar will often need to be tuned by a professional. String tension is usually high and will result in a high pitch. Look for good deals on the Gibson Maestro Diva Series 3/4 Scale Flying V electric guitar on eBay.

| Customer Reviews: Great for kids!!! Ignore negative review on this item! July 6, 2009 D. Goss (McChord AFB, WA USA) True you can't tune this to a standard EABGDE tuning because it's 3/4 the size of a regular guitar. However if previous reviewers had taken the time to actually watch the DVD that came with the guitar they would have learned this and as other reviewers have posted you can change the strings and tune it to the standard tuning just fine. For the price this item can't be beat. It's perfect for little kids who want to play but you don' t know if they will get into it.
I got this for my son who is 5 and moves from interest to interest quickly. It's well built and has survived my 5 year old and my 2 year old pounding it around and it still plays well (when tuned properly). Definitely recommend this for young children.
Horrible December 28, 2008 danimal 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this for my youngest son for Christmas as his intro guitar.
Coating has already craked, the input jack is loose and the the action was WAY to high. Tuning this is next to impossible.
I wish I would have tried one at a local music store instead of buying it.
My advice...
shop for another brand, shame on Gibson to put their name on this.
Just change strings November 1, 2008 Marco A. Tejada 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Just change the strings to D'addario-EXL 116 med top/heavy bottom this works..... Dont ask me how but these strings are optomized for drop tuning and standard E tuning and when I put these on my 2 year old daughters mini V it work like very well. When I first played the mini v I noticed off the bat that the strings were really tight in tension and awfully hard to play.. Also the the action was way too high, I put a neck shim too adjust the neck angle direction for lower action and put new strings adjust the brigde and your set. I played in drop D and E tuningand it plays well, but remember it close to being a toy but its a real guitar with real guitar parts, im trully impress for the price I paid.($[...] Big lots) THis guitar sounds really GOOD Stock, exception of the strings I played more expensive guitars costing more and this one rocks just as well!! p.s. these strings have NOT gave me stress issues on the neck and the string tension is not hard its easier and plays well.. go to a local guitar store for more guitar "SET_UP" info..
This 3/4 size Guitar ROCKS! August 6, 2008 Scott Douglas (Music City, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Anyone looking for a great first electric guitar needs to check out the Maestro line from Gibson. Well constructed (solid - includes a 5 year warranty), great finish, includes powerful amp (LOUD), strap, extra strings and instructional DVD. Beware - this is a 3/4 size guitar and is tuned differently from a full size (the DVD will go over this). The previous reviewer obviously didn't watch the DVD and there's no instruction manual to tell you this.
I wasn't sure if my son would stick with the guitar so I didn't want to invest (blow) a lot of money until he showed interest. This was a great birthday present, he hasn't put it down yet.
Cannot tune guitar January 4, 2008 Pamela T. Pfeiffer (Dacula, GA) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
We are forced to return this product after trying to tune the guitar with no success. We even brough it to a local recording studio to see if a professional could tune it for us and he informed us that this particular guitar cannot be tuned correctly. I guess if you just want it becuase it looks cool but do not plan on playing it, go ahead and buy it.
